Snake Eyes Alone in The Cold Zone

 photo Action_Force_Monthly_Vol_1_3_zps84a50ef3.jpg

Above is the front cover of Action Force Monthly #3 from August 1988.
This issue could be classed as the ninja issue of the 15 Issue run.
This comic has 3 stories one that centers around Storm Shadow the Cobra Ninja and his act of revenge on General Loi after a 17 year hunt. This story indecently was written by Grant Morrison which I only found out today whilst I researched the release date. (every days a school day)
The second is a Snake Eyes story but we will get to that in a bit. The last is a part of the first Action Force/G.I.Joe crossover with the Transformers called Ancient Relics.

Below are some scans from the second story in this comic it is called Cold Zone and features Snake Eyes and some Snow Serpents.
The Script is by Ian Rimmer and Jerry Paris with art from Jerry Paris too.

The above story has always stuck in my mind for some reason maybe the art which was good for the Marvel UK Comics of the time so when I had a chance to get this issue again after I had lost my original copy I jumped at the chance when it became available to me.
I always loved the ninja story lines in the comic even up to today with the IDW Comics they always seem to be the more interesting stories.

The writer and the artist both wrote and drew for Marvel UK so this Story could be a UK exclusive not to sure if it show up in the G.I.Joe Special/European mission in the US Marvel comic but not sure perhaps some one in the know could comment and let me know?

  1. Although I lettered this story, the splash page logo and some of the sound effects had already been done by the artist, I think. Can't tell you if it ever appeared in the U.S. 'though.
